Most Irish private health insurers operate on a pay-and-claim basis. You pay upfront, then submit your receipt for reimbursement.

In addition to insurance, you may be eligible for 20% tax relief on qualifying medical expenses through Revenue. Claim it through the Health Expenses (Med 1) section of MyAccount. Any insurance reimbursement must be deducted before calculating relief.

Each insurer has its own process. VHI members claim via the MyVHI app or portal, Laya members through the Laya Healthcare app, and Irish Life members by uploading receipts to their online member account. Submit as soon as possible after your session.
No. You do not need a GP referral to book with MindPath or to submit an insurance claim. Book directly, receive your receipt after your session, and submit it to your insurer.
